What is so difficult about this, I wonder?
Yesterday morning, I went to the hotel restaurant to have breakfast since they didn't serve it room service. I order my eggs. I told the waiter that I wanted the eggs fried, but that I wanted the cook to break the yolks and fry the egg all the way through. He says, "So you want scrambled?" Nuh uh, fried eggs. I explain to him again, "please ask the cook to crack the egg in the pan, break the yolk and then fry the egg all the way through, or hard." Okay, he's got, he nods, and goes off and does other things. He brings my order. Eggs are sunny side up.
I reign in all of the anger and all I feel - I'm tired, I'm hungry - I'm like a three month old ready to scream her lungs out. I tell him the eggs aren't right. I once again explain exactly what I mean. He takes them back and brings them back - still wrong. I don't know what the difficulty is. I could have just gone in the kitchen and fried the damn things myself for all the waiting I did.
I forget about the eggs, I figure I'll just eat the rest of my breakfast the whole time wishing I'd just gone with the cold cereal. One bite of potato later, I realize, all of my food is cold, my ham, my potato, my toast. All cold. They couldn't have kept it warm while chef extraoridinaire was screwing up my eggs again? The waiter comes over asks if he can refill my orange juice. I tell him I would just like the check. He tells me he's sorry they can't satisfy me but they don't know what I want. A hard fried egg with a broken yolk - it's that simple!!!! He tells me the meals on the house, which is good considering I didn't eat a bite of it, though I really wanted to. I was hungry.
So my question is, how do I order eggs so that I get them done the way that I want. Stew said to order them eggs over hard. That eggs over easy was runny yolk and over hard was hard yolk. I'm going to try that.
